Theme
This tour is designed to appeal to those who are interested in the fascinating Scottish history and the Royal dynasty over the centuries. You will tour a number of castles steeped in history, with fascinating antiques and historical artifacts.
In addition, you will enjoy a steam train ride and have time for some private sightseeing and shopping. You will visit a distillery to see how Scotch is made and enjoy a sample of the whisky it produces.
Add together some wonderful scenery and elegant accommodations and you have a great vacation to look forward to.
Route
Your tour will commence on your arrival into Scotland where you will be met at the airport by your driver and transferred to your hotel. Guest can choose to arrive in Edinburgh or Glasgow Airport and transfers to the first hotel are included from both airports. Depending on your flight arrival time, there will be time to visit the historic city of Stirling and visit Stirling Castle, before traveling to your hotel to check in and meet up with the rest of your group at a welcome dinner.
After a relaxing first evening depart to the highland town of Fort William, traveling via the stunning scenery of Loch Lomond and Glencoe. The next day you will take a trip on The Jacobite Steam Train – renowned as one of the finest railway journeys of the world this trip takes you through some of the best scenery in the west highlands.
From there you will travel to Royal Deeside to attend The Braemar Gathering. (HM The Queen and other members of the Royal family attend this highland event) You will then travel to Aberdeen to enjoy a tour of Aberdeenshire’s ‘castle trail’. From there you will head south through Angus to spend the final two nights of your tour in Scotland’s magnificent capital city, Edinburgh.
Food and drink
Everyone enjoys good food when on holiday and we can help you to select good places to eat and drink when you are here. There are many pubs and restaurants in interesting locations to choose from. You may prefer some simple bars or street cafes where you can watch the world go by, a wonderful lunch in a historic building or castle, or dinner at an award winning restaurant with an amazing wine cellar. You can mix casual dining with a few formal dining experiences. Each day dinner is not included. we will supply you with a dinner recommendation and you can make your selection…..
