Islands & Whisky Tour
Theme This tour is designed to appeal to those who are keen to visit Scotland’s Islands and find out about the thing that Scotland is most famous for – whisky! On this trip you will visit one of our most popular Islands- Skye with it’s rugged landscapes and centuries of Gaelic Heritage. Two of the islands known as The Inner Hebrides are also visited on this trip. The island of Mull which is wild and beautiful and has miles of dramatic coastline and the tiny island of Iona which is recognised as a spiritual haven and known for its natural beauty and serenity. There will be visits to a distillery in each area so that you can experience a variety of distilleries – from coastal to highland to Speyside -each malt with a different nose and flavour. The tour will conclude with a visit to Scotland’s capital city, Edinburgh where you will time for cultural experiences and shopping. Add in some elegant accommodations and you have a great vacation to look forward to. Route Your tour will commence on your arrival into Scotland where you will be met at the airport by your driver and transferred to your hotel. Guest can choose to arrive in Edinburgh or Glasgow Airport and transfers to the first hotel are included from both airports. Depending on your flight arrival time, there will be time to visit the historic city of Stirling . Afterwards travel to your hotel to check in and meet up with the rest of your group at a welcome dinner. After a relaxing first evening you will depart through the stunning scenery of Loch Lomond and Argyll You will then travel northwards to The Isle of Skye traveling along ‘the road to the isles –one the of most scenic routes in the west highlands. Enjoy a full day sightseeing on Skye before traveling to Speyside for an overnight stop before continuing through Speyside to Glamis Castle to attend the Strathmore Highland Games which is held in the grounds. After the games events, travel to Scotland’s magnificent capital city Edinburgh for the final two nights of your tour. Food and drink Everyone enjoys good food when on holiday and we can help you to select good places to eat and drink when you are here. There are many pubs and restaurants in interesting locations to choose from. You may prefer some simple bars or street cafes where you can watch the world go by, a wonderful lunch in a historic building or castle, or dinner at an award winning restaurant with an amazing wine cellar. You can mix casual dining with a few formal dining experiences. Each day dinner is not included. we will supply you with a dinner recommendation and you can make your selection…..
